Snowman Coloring Page (4 of 4)

The fourth sheet is a delicate scene: snow drifting down around the snowman, with a bench, a lantern, and a fence nearby. Soft pencil strokes and pale cool colors in the sky help the quiet, wintery mood come through.

About the Snowman

Snowmen are one of the most familiar winter pictures, made by rolling and stacking snow and then dressing it up with whatever is at hand: a hat, a scarf, a carrot nose, and buttons. People enjoy building them wherever there is snow, and the image works just as well on paper for anyone who wants a taste of winter, whatever the weather outside.

A good way to approach these sheets is to choose a small palette first, for example two cool blues for shadows, one warm red or green for the scarf, and a single accent color for the hat. Leaving the body mostly white, with pale blue shading on one side, keeps the snowman bright and gives it a soft, rounded look.
