Snow Globe Coloring Page (2 of 4)

In the second sheet the globe holds a decorated evergreen, a cottage, a little bridge, and a few villagers, set on a richly decorated base. Try a deep blue for the inside of the globe so the snowflakes and warm lights stand out.

About the Snow Globe

A snow globe is a clear glass or plastic sphere filled with water and tiny white flakes; when you shake it, the "snow" swirls and then settles over a miniature scene. People have collected them for well over a century, and they remain popular as small keepsakes and desk decorations because they hold an entire winter moment in the palm of a hand.

Because the scene is framed by a circle, it works nicely to color the background of the globe first, then the objects inside, and finally the base. A pale wash of blue or lavender behind the scene makes the white snowflakes and warm window lights stand out, and a little shading near the edge of the glass gives the globe a feeling of depth.
