About Kansai

Kansai (関西), also known as Kinki, is Japan's cultural heartland, encompassing seven prefectures: Mie, Shiga, Kyoto, Osaka, Hyogo, Nara, and Wakayama. This region covers approximately 33,100 square kilometers and is home to about 22.7 million people.

Kansai is the cultural and historical center of Japan, home to ancient capitals Kyoto and Nara.
