Impression, Sunrise

In 1872, Claude Monet painted this view of the harbor of Le Havre, the port town where he grew up. When it was shown in Paris in 1874, a critic mocked its title, and the new movement came to be called Impressionism.
Color the sky in soft orange and pink and the water in blue-green, then save your strongest orange for the sun and its reflection. With only a few outlines, this page is perfect for blending colors softly.
Monet's signature and the year '72 appear in the lower left corner, just as in the original painting.
This is a coloring page for recreation, brain training, and day services for seniors. You can print for free in A4 size.
